Wastewater

Overview

Our department is responsible for maintaining the public sewer system to ensure a constant and efficient flow of wastewater. Wastewater generated from bathrooms and kitchens is collected and pumped through a series of pump stations and low-pressure mains that convey flows around the perimeter of the City through the sewer system and is processed by a Regional Wastewater Plant in Chehalis.

Ever Wonder Where It Goes?

Down the toilet or down the drain isn’t the end of the line. When you flush the water and unmentionables they go somewhere.

Most homes, businesses, and industries in Napavine are connected to a sewer system that conveys flushed and drained wastewater to the Regional Wastewater Plant prior to being released cleanly and safely into the environment. Some things should never be flushed or sent down the drain because they cause problems.

Do not use your toilet as a trash can!
