Director of Public Works

The City of Napavine is accepting applications for the position of Director of Public Works. 

Position reports to the Mayor.

FSLA Status: Union/Non-Exempt/Just Cause and is a full-time position.

Salary Schedule (2026): $35.11-$43.48 per hour / $6,084.69-$7,535.37 monthly-plus benefits.

General Statements: 

This is a high-level management position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the city’s Public Works Department. Provide oversight and administrative support for the Community Development Department, including planning, zoning, permitting, and code enforcement functions. Respond to after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotations as required. Performing as a key member of the city’s management team.  As head of the department, the director performs essential and complex administrative duties overseeing all operational and administrative facets of the city’s street, water, wastewater, stormwater, engineering, code official, inspections and field work.
