Utility Worker-Public Works
The City of Napavine is accepting applications for the position of Utility Worker.
Position reports to the Public Works Director.
FSLA Status: Union/Non-Exempt/Just Cause and is a full-time position.
Salary Schedule (2026): $28.22-$35.82 per hour / $4,889.73-$6,207.22 monthly-plus benefits.
General Statements:
Under the supervision of the Public Works Director or designee, the Utility Worker performs a wide range of semi-skilled to skilled manual and technical work involving the construction, installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s water distribution system, sewer collection system, pumping stations, streets, parks, equipment, and facilities.
Work requires the use of standard and specialized tools, power-driven equipment, and heavy machinery. Duties may include operation of trucks, backhoes, mowers, and specialized vehicles. Work is performed both independently and as part of a crew, and employees are expected to exercise sound judgment, follow safety regulations, and respond to emergency situations.
