Mayor Nicholas W. Bozarth

Message from the Mayor:

We are pleased with the progress that we have made with this administration. I promised to the citizens through my campaign and my inauguration to bring teamwork, accountability and service to city government. I am proud to say that we are taking steps to improve on each one.

Over the past year and a half there have been many changes that have taken place. I am pleased with the progress that we have made. While there has been challenges and obstacles it has not changed the course that we set when you elected me. Change was promised when I was running for mayor. This has been difficult for some. We have had a large turnover in staff since I was sworn in. However, the talented individuals that have remained or are newly hired are refreshing and encouraging to work with. The staff that has remained continues to serve the city well and their dedication is appreciated.

We have accomplished important steps for the city. Items that can be checked off of the "to do" list include:
1. Civil Service Commission (Required by law)
2. Improving relations with other cities and agencies.
3. We now own our city hall.
4. Stabilization of city departments.
5. Economic Development.
6. Recruiting new businesses.
7. Beautification project of downtown 2nd Ave. (Grant acquired)
8. Acquisition of a skate park

While it is a relief to mark these items off as being done, the work goes on. Over the coming year it will be our continued focus to complete the following plans:
1. Updating city ordinances.
2. Revising policies and procedures and updating job descriptions.
3. Acquire grant to complete 2nd Ave improvement to Stella St.
4. Revive the amphitheatre.
5. Grow a community garden.
6. Begin a farmer's market.
7. Restore the old city jail.
8. Raise donations to complete skate park.

In closing, I am optimistic about the future of our city. I am thankful for the people that live here and of the dedication of so many to make this place a home. Our city is strong and growing and it is because of the hard work of people like you that we have gotten to where we are at today! As always your input is absolutely essential in making Napavine what we expect it to be.

There is a lot of opportunities and change that will be coming up. But I can't do this without YOU. I will need your patience at times, your input, your ideas and most importantly your support as we continue down this path into the future. You are a valuable teammate in this city and together we will make the City of Napavine a safe, clean and progressive city with a small town atmosphere by providing teamwork, accountability and service.

God bless you, our city and more than ever our nation.

Your Mayor,

Nicholas Bozarth
